It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty A. Gregory, a beloved wife of 60 years, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on January 24, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 15, 1947, in Plattsburgh, New York, Betty spent her life in the embrace of her cherished hometown of Ellenburg, where she warmly welcomed all into her home.
Betty was a devoted homemaker, pouring her love into her family and friends. She found joy in attending various events throughout the years, supporting her children and grandchildren. You would see her in the front row at soccer, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, recitals or concerts. Betty loved photos of her loved ones, collecting a library of photo albums and displaying pictures throughout her home. She was the person capturing these moments, rarely in the picture. She looked forward to spending time with her family, visiting on the weekends or planning trips with her close family members.
Betty was employed at Northern Adirondack Central School as a Teacher's Aide and she cherished working with the children, often telling stories about her experiences. She donated to various organizations. She was a faithful member to St. Edmund's Church, devoted to her faith and her Catholic upbringing.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Martin Gregory Jr.; her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Becky Gregory of Amsterdam, NY, and Kevin and Richelle Gregory of Beekmantown, NY; her sister, Isabelle Cassavaugh, and brother-in-law, Gene Cassavaugh of Lewis, NY. Betty's nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Sam, Lauren, Emma, Erin, Lexi, Ian, and Iasia, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her gentle spirit and unwavering support.
