Rose J. Wagstaff, 90, of Norfolk passed away on January 27th at CPH surrounded by family.
Rose was born October 15, 1935 at home in Norfolk to the late John Wolfe Sr. and Rose (Roshia) Wolfe. Rose married William Wagstaff July 17, 1954, at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk.
Rose worked at Clarkson University for over 28 years. She was a farmer all of her life and an avid gardener with several gardens. Rose loved her trips to other countries she took with her church group. She loved animals.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Randy and Thelma (Wagstaff) Wolstenholme, Norfolk; her sons, Charles and Ronda Wagstaff, Norfolk and Randy and Christina Wagstaff, Norfolk; her brother, Francis and Bernice Wolfe, Norfolk; her sister-in-law, Daisy Wagstaff, Potsdam and her extended family, Charlene (Aumell) Reed, Norfolk. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, William, her son, William Jr., her daughter, Mary (Wagstaff) Jay and her Husband, Michael Jay Sr. She was also predeceased by her siblings, John Wolfe Jr, Winslow Wolfe, Thelma Burkum, Mary Deshane, her brother, Joseph Wolfe,who died in infancy, and her extended family Charles Aumell.
There will be no calling hours. A spring funeral and memorial are planned.
